Registration requirements
As of August 2025, all House League players must be rostered with USA HOCKEY to participate. In order to roster a player, the following is required and needed to complete registration for House League. You will be prompted to provide the following during registration. PLAYERS WHO DO NOT COMPLETE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE ICE
1) Player Birth Certificate: you will be prompted to upload this during registration.
2) Player USA Hockey Number- this is a yearly membership required for participation on the ice. Most players will have them from participation in Learn to Play or past House Leagues
3) Parent USA Hockey Number: At least one parent/guardian per family needs to register for a free USA Hockey Number. It is needed to complete the required trainings. Follow the link below to register for a FREE volunteer USA Hockey Number https://membership.usahockey.com/
4) Anti-Bullying and Inclusion Training: Every year parents and hockey players in California have to complete CAHA’s Anti- Bullying and Inclusion Training(ABI).
THIS IS REQUIRED for ALL PLAYERS in order to complete registration and participate in House League. You will only need to complete it once per year.
Go to the training portal: https://caha.respectgroupinc.com/
- A Parent must complete the training first. The Parent will be asked for their USA Hockey Number. Once you have completed the ABI training, you will receive an email with a certificate and a confirmation number.
- For the Player to complete the training, you will enter the confirmation number from the parent’s certificate at the start of the training. Please use the same name for your player that will be used for registration and rostering. You will receive a confirmation email that the player has completed the training and a certificate.
You will be prompted to upload the PLAYER'S CERTIFICATE only to complete registration.
Save the certificates in case you are prompted to send them in to the house league coordinator or registrar
Volunteer Hours and Additional Requirements
Each family must complete 5 volunteer hours over the course of the 12 week season. Since most of the volunteer opportunities involve interacting with players, USA Hockey requires training to make sure the events are a safe and supportive environment for all. Please read below about the required yearly trainings:
Each family needs to have one parent who has completed Safesport Training and background check to be able to serve as a volunteer and specifically as a locker room monitor. We need one verified volunteer in each locker room for every practice or game. Training covers you for 1 year from completion, and Background check is good for 2 years.
Full instructions for Safesport, and Anti Bullying Trainings can be found here: https://www.fresnoyouthhockey.com/parent-resources/safesport-background-screen-and-caha-abi-training/106066
*This is the same number used for ABI Training explained above. A parent must submit their USA Hockey # at registration, this will allow us to verify completed Safesport training and Background check. You can follow this link to registered for a USA Hockey Member (most will choose the Parent/Volunteer FREE option) https://membership.usahockey.com/
You must enter a Parent's USA Hockey # to register, but have until the first practice of the season to complete the Safesport training.
