FJHC Scholarship News

The FJHC Stan Dolan 75FOR75 Scholarship program, in accordance with the FJHC, has been designed to provide an affordable, high quality hockey experience to those who have financial need. This program is not intended to be a handout but rather a financial assistance program made available to those who meet the qualifying criteria and are committed to the organization.

We all know the high costs associated with playing Travel ice hockey. The FJHC has been fortunate to receive a $75,00.00 grant from Dick’s Sporting Goods to help off-set these costs. Each scholarship has a maximum value of up to $1500.00 to be applied towards Travel dues. Your player does not have to be currently on a FJHC Travel team.

Please be aware that applications not postmarked or emailed by 3/15/2024 will not be considered.

A few key points to keep in mind:

*The following information must be submitted to apply and be considered for a scholarship and that a late and/or incomplete application will not be considered:

75FOR75 Dicks Sporting Goods Grant

Over the last two seasons, Dick’s Sporting Goods has contributed almost $100,00.00 to the FJHC through their Sports Matter program. The Club has been selected this season as one of 75 youth organizations across the county to receive $75,00.00 as part of their “75for75” program.

Much of this is due to the relationship that has been built with Brian Alamano, Community Marketing Manager for Dick’s Sporting Goods. Brian and his brother both skated for the FJHC when they were growing up, and Brian understood the expense of playing hockey in this area. Brian became the Club’s advocate to his Board to help secure last year’s $20,00.00 grant and continues to help “Keep Hockey in Fresno”. Brian and Stan Dolan, Club Vice President, have spent many grueling hours over lunch at the Elbow Room to make sure hockey in Fresno can truly be for everyone.

This new grant will also be a bit of a legacy for the outgoing Club Vice President. Stan and his family have been involved with Professional, Youth, and Junior hockey in the Fresno area for almost 20 years.
