
Fresno Junior Hockey Club Welcomes Jeff Ferguson as the New Hockey Director
Fresno, CA – April 27, 2025 – The Fresno Junior Hockey Club is thrilled to announce the appointment of Jeff Ferguson as the new Hockey Director. With an extensive background in hockey both as a player and coach, Jeff brings a wealth of experience."I am excited for the opportunity to lead the Fresno Junior Hockey Club and continue building on the organization's recent success," Ferguson said. "By focusing on discipline, effort, and the right way, I believe we can take the program to new levels and provide a positive experience for all players. My goal is to create an environment where parents and players view Fresno as a hockey destination."
Jeff Ferguson's hockey journey began with the Calgary Spurs in the Alberta Junior Hockey League. He continued to excel in the Western Hockey League with the Calgary Wranglers, Lethbridge Hurricanes, and Spokane Chiefs. Jeff's talent and dedication earned him invitations to training camp with the Hartford Whalers of the NHL, Springfield Indians (AHL), and Long Beach Ice Dogs (IHL). As a professional, he played over 250 games with the Fresno Falcons in the WCHL. He also represented Canada on the national team and played in the prestigious Spengler Cup.
When his playing career was over, Jeff made a smooth transition to coaching. His extensive coaching experience includes serving as an assistant coach for the Merritt Centennials (BCHL), coaching Summer Select AAA in Southern Alberta, and serving as the Head Coach of the Fresno State Bulldogs (ACHA). He has also coached various teams in the Fresno Junior Hockey Club to CAHA state championships. Additionally, Jeff has served as an instructor at various hockey schools, including the Western Canadian Goalie School, San Jose Sharks Hockey School, and Rocky Mountain Hockey School. He partnered with Edmonton Oilers Assistant Coach Glen Gulutzan to develop summer hockey programs for both kids and adults.
Jeff Ferguson's commitment to excellence and his belief in doing things the right way have always been at the forefront of his coaching philosophy. In recognition of his contributions to hockey, Jeff was inducted into the Fresno Hockey Hall of Fame.
