8U Weekends Travel Team
Our 8U Team is a pared down travel team which gives our club’s youngest players the experience of competing against other clubs. Previous seasons consisted of 4 one-day tournaments.
NorCal Youth Hockey League(NorCal) is introducing a new 8U Division Schedule this year called “8U Weekends”. In order to give the opportunity for the kids to play more games, NorCal will host games once per month from September to March.
September will be a preseason jamboree tournament where teams can request the division they would like to be in for the regular season. Once the divisions are set… the teams will meet on a once a month basis from October-February. These once a month meetings will be “mini jamborees” hosted by divisions only instead of an entire 8U event like years past. The last event of the season will be a two day 8U end of season tournament in March.
Ages
8U Travel is designed for 5-8 year olds (2019-2017) separated into different divisions based on age and skill
When
Practices start in August and the season concludes in March. There will be mini Jamboree's once a month starting in September
Where
Practices will be held at Gateway Ice Rink and a Game schedule will be released at a later time. Games will be played all over Northern California

Games
Games (Mini Jamborees) will be played once a month with teams in a Team's division. At the end of the season, teams participate in the NorCal Future Stars Showcase.

During House League Seasons, 8U players will practice with house league players on Tuesdays at 6-7pm. 8U players can also participate in House League, for an additional fee (reduced from full House League dues)
