Return to Play Guidelines

General Considerations

  • Parents are expected to complete a wellness check on themselves and of their player prior to attending any Fresno Junior Hockey Club program to ensure that signs and symptoms of illness are not present.
  • A coach will require that a player exhibiting signs or symptoms of illness will need to leave practice
  • Practice focus will be on skills development, not playing games.
  • Locker rooms and Lobby will NOT be available for Fresno Junior Hockey Club programs until further notice.
    • When local health protocol allows use of locker rooms, players will be appropriately physically distanced (using multiple locker rooms).
  • Players will be required to put equipment on outside of Gateway Ice Center. Suggested to bring lawn chair for seating. Seating will not be provided.
  • Hockey bags will NOT be allowed in Gateway Ice Center for Fresno Junior Hockey Club programs.
  • Players will enter the facility fully dressed, with skates tied and skate guards on.
  • Players need to bring and label their own water bottles, no sharing of water.
  • On-ice capacity will be limited to current social distancing guidelines.
  • Per Gateway Ice Center, restrooms will not be available until further notice.

Parents/Spectators

  • Parents and Spectators are asked to please adhere to social distancing guidelines as directed by Gateway Ice Center.

On-Ice Practices

  • Players and coaches will observe physical distancing while on the ice.
  • Player benches will not be utilized during practice.
  • Drills will be individual and allow for individual space.
  • Practices will focus on power skating and puck handling.
  • All drills will be non-contact.
  • When leaving the ice, coaches will excuse players one-by-one.

After Practice

  • Players, parents and spectators are asked to minimize their time in or around the facility.
  • Players should disinfect helmets, sticks, gloves and skates after each training session.
  • Wash cloths (jerseys and socks) after each training session.
